Bring the Tropical Rainforest Inside!
The Dwarf Umbrella Tree can grow indoors or out—either way, it makes a statement. With glossy emerald leaves that stick around all year, you and your houseguests can enjoy its tropical intrigue 24/7/365.
These lush rainforest trees are versatile growers. Depending on your skill level, you can choose to grow your Dwarf Umbrella Tree as a bush, tree, or even as a bonsai (with a little effort, you can train the trunk into a braid!).
The trunk and stems of this tree grow upwards and out in a near-perfect circle (like an unfolded umbrella—it’s named “umbrella” for a reason). While they can grow as tall as 15 feet in tropical climates outdoors, most indoor Dwarf Umbrella Trees will stay around 3-5 feet tall, depending on ceiling height and pot size.
The Dwarf Umbrella Plant is a perfect house or patio plant in growing zones 4-11. If you prefer to grow one outside, you’ll have no trouble in growing zones 9-11. This tree works well as an eye-catching garden centerpiece or within a tropical landscape style.
Exotic, adaptable, and relatively low maintenance, the Dwarf Umbrella Plant will fit into any home. Order your own today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: During the winter months, the Dwarf Umbrella enjoys bright light. As for spring and summer, it does well with indirect light and a bit of dappled shade. However, the Umbrella Plant prefers warm temperatures, so be sure to keep it away from drafty areas.
When you’re repotting or planting your Umbrella, select a container that’s twice the width of the shipped container and one that has drainage holes.
2. Watering: Water your tree lightly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not soggy. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind: put your finger in the soil to check its level of moisture. There is no need to water your Dwarf Umbrella until you have a full inch of dryness starting from the top of the soil.
